ABOUT JULIE

THE STORY BEHIND HER WORDS

Dr. Julie Osburn, actor, singer, playwright, author, director and teacher starred on television and film, Off-Broadway and Regionals, as well as in Toronto and on West End. She worked with directors such as Sir Richard Eyre and actors such as Joanne Woodward, Charles Durning, Emile Hirsch, Catherine Zeta Jones and George Clooney. She was mentored by two acting coach legends: Uta Hagen and Larry Moss. She established the Actors In Process Studio in West Hollywood where she taught acting and voice and co-founded an acting company.

One might then wonder why she left show business and headed to England to seek Postgraduate degrees in creative writing. The simplest answer is that she had been nurturing a love of the written word throughout her acting career. She searched for new avenues to strengthen her artistic voice and vision and hone her critical thinking. She was lucky to land in Norwich at the University of East Anglia where she earned an MA in Creative Non-Fiction and a PhD in Creative-Critical Writing. This is where her novel, THE DEVEREUX CURSE was born. She has at last come home and happily settled in the Berkshires with her husband Alexander and their two pusses.
